WHAT MAKES AMERICA WONDERFUL?
Pastors face a difficult battle today: how can they lead their congregation with godly courage and humility? How can they reach the unchurched in the community without sacrificing depth? Scott Thomas has been a pastor for 44 years and wrote The Gospel Shaped Leader: Leaning on Jesus to Shepherd His People. Over his years of leadership, Scott has cultivated skills like empathy, listening, and servant leadership to practically address the needs of others, tackle spiritual challenges, and grow his ministry without sacrificing the gospel or Scripture. "We grow by spending time with Jesus," he says. We are called to abide, rest, and sit with Christ; in that relationship with the Son, leaders find their foundation, their peace, and their compass when leading their churches.
TAKEAWAYS
Paul sets an example for how Christian leaders and disciples can exercise emotional intelligence, which is wisdom applied skillfully
We can extend grace to those who are least qualified to receive it
Scott's book talks about not only his triumphs, but also his leadership failures - and how he learned from these experiences
Connecting with and serving others in your church and community is Jesus’ way of discipleship

Flashpoint With Gene Bailey Episode: 11/2/24
Victoria Stoll’s dark side of her life was hidden in the shadows of the Mennonite communities. Raised in the rural farm lifestyle, she survived years of abuse and mental manipulation. After leaving at the age of 18, she met her husband who had grown up Amish, and they decided to build a life for themselves outside of the abusive and legalistic traditions of their Mennonite and Amish heritage. While it is true that not every Mennonite and Amish community is like this, many boys and girls who leave these communities struggle to find their identity in the outside world. Victoria shares what it’s like to grow up isolated from the outside world and how she was finally able to leave the highly controlled and abusive environment.
TAKEAWAYS
Like many Mennonite and Amish children, Victoria experienced a lot of spiritual, emotional, and physical abuse
Many victims don’t report the abuse that they have endured because they don’t understand the laws or where to go for help
Accountability for predators in a small community is rare, and they usually just find another community and repeat the same behavior
Three out of five girls are sexually assaulted in the Amish community, most of them never receiving the help they desperately need

PROTECTING WELFARE OF CHILDREN
These are the voices which are 'standing in the gap' for the multitudes who have lost a loved one to an incentivized hospital protocol that has been blindly followed. The voices of those who perished are silent no longer!
