⁣Michele Bachmann was born in Waterloo, Iowa. She received a B.A. in Political Science and English from Winona State University in 1978. She married Marcus Bachmann, a clinical therapist who holds a master’s degree from Regent University. In 1986, Bachmann received a Juris Doctor degree from Oral Roberts University. She was a member of the ORU law school’s final graduating class, and was part of a group of faculty, staff, and students who moved the ORU law school library to Regent University. Two years later, she completed a Master of Law in taxation at the College of William & Mary. She worked for four years as a lawyer for the Internal Revenue Service’s Office of Chief Counsel in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Bachmann and her husband have five children. They also worked with a private foster care agency to house 23 children in their home during the 1990s. Bachmann’s children were home schooled and also attended private Christian schools, and her political career stemmed from her interest in education reform.
In 2000, Bachmann defeated a longtime moderate incumbent for a state senate seat in Minnesota. In 2006, Bachmann entered the race to represent her suburban Minneapolis congressional district. She won 52 percent of the vote, becoming the first Republican woman from Minnesota elected to the House of Representatives. She easily won reelection in 2008 and 2010.
Bachmann’s extensive career highlights include:
Bachmann was the first Republican woman from Minnesota elected to the U.S. House of Representatives.
Bachmann served as a United States Congresswoman representing Minnesota’s 6th District from 2007 to 2015.
She quickly became a national figure in the Republican Party and a founding member of the congressional Tea Party Caucus.
In 2011, Bachmann announced her bid for the Republican presidential nomination and ran for president in 2012.
Bachmann is a highly respected leader who is deeply committed to conservative values in government.

⁣Gordon G. Chang is the author of China Is Going to War, The Great U.S.-China Tech War, and Losing South Korea, booklets released by Encounter Books. His previous books are Nuclear Showdown: North Korea Takes On the World and The Coming Collapse of China, both from Random House.

⁣Like Donald Trump or not, support Donald Trump or not, The fact is that his coverage from these outlets, and there are many, has been proven to be 89 percent negative. And it's not just a one-time thing. Oh no, it's all day every day, calling him a criminal or a felon a danger a threat or using some sort of deceptive editing to create a dehumanizing narrative and then adding fuel to ignite the fire. There's the Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo stating that he needs to be extinguished for good and Corinne Jean-Pierre calling Donald Trump a threat to democracy right from the White House press podium. And Kamala Harris calling Trump the biggest threat since the Civil War. But these attacks just go even deeper than that. They are targeting and transferring their venom onto anyone who supports Trump and his associates and those who dare to stand up and refuse to relinquish their God-given inalienable rights. As long as the name Trump is associated in any way, that has opened up the door for a free reign of whatever attacks they can dream up against him and his supporters, because it has been a decade of ramping up the emotional fear and anger -- the fight or flight reflex -- with the Russia hoax, the Ukraine hoax, etc.

⁣In Arizona there were 20 rally attendees that were sitting behind Trump. Suddenly, after the rally, they all started experiencing this burning in their eyes. I think one or 2 of them said they were experiencing blindness. The Trump campaign is investigating it -- who knows where the DOJ is -- you've got Corey Compitore who was killed by the would-be assassin of Butler County -- you've got David Dutch and James Copenharver, who were injured. 'Crickets' from the media except for independent journalists. And the concern -- and I hear this a lot -- is that they liken it to a frog being put into boiling water. Then the heat is slowly turned up until the 'croaking point'. And it's like, 'are we going to be able to leap out before we are all boiled alive'? But in the here and now, Mark, how do we 'fight fire with fire'?
