Xi Jinping makes rare trip to North Korea next week for the first time since 2019

China has announced that Chinese president Xi Jinping will visit North Korea next week for the first time since 2019, in a clear bid to shore up Beijing’s ties its neighbor after Pyongyang grew closer to Russia.
